Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is required to see a physiotherapist at Elite Edge Physiotherapy. You can book directly online or contact our clinic to arrange an appointment. If you are attending under WorkCover, CTP, NDIS or Medicare, a referral or approval from your GP or insurer may be required.

What makes Elite Edge Physiotherapy different from other clinics?

Elite Edge Physiotherapy combines elite sport experience with objective performance testing to guide rehabilitation.

Our clinic uses VALD technology to measure strength, balance and power deficits. This allows us to track progress objectively and ensure you are ready to safely return to sport, work or training.

We focus on long-term solutions, not quick fixes, addressing the underlying factors contributing to your injury.

When should I see a physiotherapist for an injury?

You should consider seeing a physiotherapist if you experience:

• Pain that persists for more than a few days
• Swelling or restricted movement in a joint
• Difficulty training, exercising or playing sport
• Recurring muscle strains or injuries
• Pain that worsens during activity

Early assessment can often reduce recovery time and prevent minor injuries becoming long-term problems.

Do you treat athletes only?

No. While Elite Edge specialises in sports physiotherapy and athletic rehabilitation, we treat anyone experiencing musculoskeletal pain or injury.

This includes:

• Sports injuries
• Gym and running injuries
• Work-related injuries
• Post-surgical rehabilitation
• Everyday neck, back and joint pain

Our philosophy is to apply elite sports rehabilitation principles to everyone, helping every patient move and perform at their best.

What happens during my first physiotherapy appointment?

Your initial consultation is designed to identify the true cause of your injury, not just treat symptoms.

During your first appointment we will:

• Discuss your injury history and training load
• Perform a detailed movement and strength assessment
• Identify the structures contributing to your pain
• Explain your diagnosis and recovery timeline
• Begin treatment and provide a rehabilitation plan

Our goal is to ensure you leave the first session with clarity about your injury and a clear plan for recovery.
